The Phoenix

Welcome to The Phoenix . . . where Golf & Curling Bring Us Together!

At The Phoenix, we believe in the power of sport to unite, inspire, and create unforgettable experiences.  Thanks to our incredible supporters and sponsors, we proudly offer local, regional, and international opportunities in golf and curling, often free or at significantly reduced entry fees, ensuring that everyone has the chance to play.

Though we’re based in Scotland, the traditional home of golf and the headquarters of the World Curling Federation, our community reaches far and wide.  Our members come from across the globe, all sharing a passion for golf and curling, regardless of physical, sensory, or learning disabilities.  Together, we play, connect, and celebrate the joy of these incredible sports.

Each year, we organise dozens of events, including our biggest annual golf competition, The Phoenix Cup.  This groundbreaking international event, inspired by the Ryder and Solheim Cups, made history as the world’s first fully inclusive team match play competition.  From its debut at Chippewa Creek Golf Club in Canada, where Scottish and Canadian players teamed up, to a thrilling clash between a North American squad and a “Rest of the World” team featuring players from Australia, Ireland, South Africa, Germany, and beyond, the Phoenix Cup continues to create lasting memories.

On the curling front, we arrange over 50 games annually.  One of our most exciting moments saw a team from The Phoenix compete in Canada, facing elite squads in Toronto and Alberta.  Our athletes joined forces with disability-focused teams and top-tier North American competitors, forging lifelong friendships that came full circle with the first-ever 4-Nations Team Event in Scotland, a truly special milestone under The Phoenix banner.

Recently, we’ve embraced a new chapter by bringing all our groups under one inclusive identity.  Formerly known as SDG&C, SDGP, DCS, DICE & VISGA, we’ve unified under The Phoenix name to simplify management and strengthen our mission.  Led by dedicated volunteers with disabilities, we remain committed to making golf and curling accessible, welcoming, and fun for all.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to the game, we invite you to be part of our growing community.  Join us as we play, learn, and celebrate the spirit of inclusion together!
